What is Zorflex?

Through using Zorflex® we aim to reduce patient recovery times and associated care costs. Our technology is proven effective against MRSA and modulation of proteases.

Zorflex is a range of highly adsorbent wound contact layer dressings for chronic, nonhealing wounds. By cleaning the wound of micro-organisms and creating favourable conditions for healing, Zorflex can significantly reduce signs of infection within 4 weeks.

Zorflex Applications

Zorflex wound contact dressings have a natural physical action which helps accelerate healing across a wide range of post-operative, infected and prophylactic wound types including:

Diabetic foot ulcers
Surgical wounds
Pressure sores
Venous leg ulcers
Fungating carcinomas
Fungal skin infections
Trauma wounds
Infected graft donor and recipient sites

Applying Zorflex directly to chronic wounds improves the wound bed appearance and reduces clinical signs of infection such as pain, odour and exudate levels.

Natural Physical Action of
Zorflex Technology

Micro-organisms from the wound are attracted to the activated carbon cloth, bound to the surface and destroyed.
Activated carbon has naturally occurring van der Waals electrostatic forces that draw small
gas and liquid molecules away from the wound, to the dressing, where they become trapped
in micropores.

Bacteria cells that are too big to enter the micropores, become trapped on the surface
of Zorflex, away from the wound bed, and are deprived of nutrients which are adsorbed
into the micropores.

Electrostatic tension builds up in the trapped cells until the tension overcomes the tensile strength of the cell walls, at which time the cell walls rupture, destroying the micro-organisms.
